The series of work entitled 'Lift' is inspired by the celebration of industrial form in the work of Hilde & Bernd Becher. This modern functional architecture, in its unnatural and implausible setting of incredible beauty, makes for dramatic and evocative graphic composition. And is held up here not as an eyesore, but as a phenomenon for aesthetic recognition.
